Janeen Rae Heller




Colorado-born singer, songwriter and author, Janeen Rae Heller's folk/jazz guitar and vocal compositions range from childhood to adult themes. She is also an internationally renowned, award-winning sawyer (musical saw player) who appeared at The Hollywood Bowl with Blue Man Group playing Ravel's Bolero.
She recently played saw on the Danna Brother’s score for the "The Adams Family" animated 2019 movie, and for composer John Debney’s score for the television show "The Orville."
Her music has been heard on movie soundtracks, television shows, commercials, and live theatrical productions as well as on albums for artists such as Ricki Lee Jones, Michael Hedges and Joan Baez. The new documentary "Pushing Motherhood" features Janeen’s performance of a song she co-wrote with Guy Thomas entitled, "For The Day."
On screen television appearances as a sawyer and actor include: "The Tracey Ullman Show," "Quantum Leap," and "Home Improvement."
She also performs her original music, accompanied by her drummer husband, at live venues.
Janeen attended the University of Colorado, Boulder with a major in psychology. She is a certified hypnotherapist, and served as a Montessori school children's music teacher.
She has always felt that raising children well is one of the most important things a person can do in this world.
Because she never had children of her own, she embraces the opportunity to share her love and respect for the earth and its creatures with children. She strives to inspire and nurture them through her singing and writing.
She is an animal lover who feeds the birds, rescues bugs and bees, hugs the trees and says hello to every dog she sees.
Janeen currently spends her time writing music and children's books in Studio City, California.
